What are we living and loving for at the moment? The Jones & Co girls share their inside tips!
JJ’s List
First up, what’s floating the boat of our founder Jennifer Jones?
What I'm loving:
Stanley Tucci! I seem to have gone down a bit of a rabbit hole with him, which started with a podcast episode on Love Stories with Dolly Alderton. I’ve since then read an article in The Atlantic about his life in quarantine and re-watched The Devil wears Prada and Julie and Julia. Everyone also needs to see him making a negroni on Instagram! It will instantly make you crave one. Finally, as a salute to him I’ve just bought his cookbook! See, I told you I went down the rabbit hole. Obsessed!
What I'm coveting:
A holiday in Puglia! We had one booked for this August, which we have postponed until next year. In the meantime I am swooning over the website of this amazing hotel in Puglia and loving its relaxed interior style.
What I'm eating:
We are trying to up our veggie intake so on current rotation are our own version of Buddha Bowls. Cauliflower rice, balsamic brussel sprouts, roast cherry tomatoes, coconut greens, fried haloumi and beetroot relish! I love how you can use all your leftover veggies and somehow it just all works. The haloumi is the salty goodness that brings it all together.
What I'm reading:
For me the last book was Queenie by Candice Carty-Williams which I found fresh and honest. To my four-year-old daughter I have re-read and re-read Madame Badobedah by Sophie Dahl which is just the loveliest book to fall asleep to.
What I'm buying:
As winter seems to have hit I am investing heavily in my quest for the most nourishing moisturiser! So far I’ve bought Weleda's Skin Food and am sleeping with Aspect's Probiotic Mask on. I’ve also bought a bunch of things from Go-To – their face oil and exfoliating wipes. Finally I’ve also got a Nars Red Lipstick to distract anyone from my less than glowing skin.
What I'm watching:
Normal People!!! This show is life-changing. I’ll say no more except pace yourself with it. One episode a day is plenty.
Jen’s List
Next up, Jen’s turn! What’s our creative director Jennifer Sampson lusting after?
What I'm coveting:
I actually want a really massive rug that’s big enough to fit all of my living room furniture on. In my dreams I’d like a huge Persian but in reality I stalk around on AURUGS and Temple and Webster a lot as they offer reasonably priced versions. I have a perfectly good jute rug but want something squishy and cosy underfoot for the winter months.
What I'm eating:
We have been meal swapping with my neighbours during ISO and my favourite cake to make and share is a Orange Blossom Yoghurt Cake by Hetty McKinnon that’s light and has cardamom in it which gives it a yummy exotic twist.
What I'm reading:
I just finished Such a Fun Age, which I found pretty underwhelming and one-note so I’ve switched gears and am devouring American Dirt at the moment.
What I'm buying:
I’m using the Bopple app all the time. It’ a gorgeous curation of local restaurants that you can order through then pick up or have delivered. It’s great because it offers a whole raft of establishments that are trying to push through current restrictions so I’m really trying to support them however I can. Continental Delicatessen is my fave.
What I'm watching:
Season two of Afterlife. I’ve never really been into Ricky Gervais (apart from his scathing award show hosting duties) but this show really opened my eyes to how incredibly gifted he is as a writer, director and actor. His portrayal of a man mourning his beloved wife is moving and vulnerable, navigating grief in a raw and honest way that is so relatable and fresh.
What I'm listening to:
After Hours by The Weeknd is hitting the right vibe for me at home right now. Drew Barrymore has been releasing great playlists on Spotify lately too.
