5 Ways to survive an Australian Winter
There is no denying it. 12 degrees in Sydney feels like -5 anywhere else in the world. I was warmer during a London winter than this!
So what’s a freezing girl to do? Embrace it and make the home a cosy haven.
Here’s the 5 things that I can’t do without in Winter:
- Jen gave me these slippers years ago and they are still my go-to’s every winter. I’ve bought them for numerous friends too and now we have slipper parties (not really). I think they are a bit chic, easy to slide into, and have worn so well over the years.
- I feel like Linus from the Snoopy cartoons in winter as I walk through the house with a blanket over my shoulder. I love a big fluffy blanket to keep the legs warm while I work on the couch. This one, this one and this one do the trick:
- I don’t think any of our doors touch the floor in our house and so drafts are a massive factor in winter. I can literally feel the cold air coming in from outside. I know draft stoppers aren’t sexy but they do have a jute option which looks great in our house and at least I know the heating I’m paying for isn’t escaping!
- I am all about a hot drink in winter. Nothing like a cup of tea – my favourite is T2’s Lemongrass and Ginger and the Healthy Chef’s Matcha. And my fav Jones & Co mug is the Del Sol for its larger size and super pretty print.
- Dry skin in winter is no joke and I treat myself every year to a big bottle of L’occitane’s Almond Shower Oil. So luxurious and perfect before I get into my flannel pj’s!
