Our top 5 Melbourne spots

Our top 5 Melbourne spots

by Jennifer Jones 23.08.2017

After recently spending a few weekends in Melbourne, some for work and some for pleasure. We have complied a quick top 5 of our favourite spots to nosh and quaff from this winter. We love, love Melbourne in winter, for Sydney siders it's really the optimum time to appreciate all the beauty of Melbourne in its crisp but sunny days and brisk but happening nights. Unlike Sydney, Melbourne really comes into its own in the cooler months! We love the following...

Glug Glug:
In the QT Hotel, this place is stunning and super cool. The drinks are amazing - have a G&T and you will know what we mean. Plus the onion rings are out of this world. Best done when it still daylight but it still rocks it at night when the music pumps up

Siglo:

We went here after seeing the matinee of Book of Mormon (hysterical!). Up a tiny doorway up is this European style rooftop faces Parliament House. You honestly feel like you are in Paris. Best nibble - the polenta chips.

Saint Crispin:

We don't know if they really appreciated a table of 7 squealing women but we certainly appreciated their amazing cooking and super cosy yet luxe dining room. Highlight was when the chef came out to shave black truffle on our linguine entree.

Tonka:

The art installation that looks like clouds in this place is otherworldly. Plus you can't beat a dirty Melbourne lane-way for that rock'n'roll feeling. This is Indian food but not as you know it. Light, tasty, moreish and incredibly flavoured.

Ricky and Pinky:

For all of us colour lovers, the interior of Ricky and Pinky's will truly delight! However, we were also blown away by their dumplings. This is the BEST Chinese food we have ever eaten.
